Important Information

The UK Airborne Flying Display Director (AFDD) Course is managed and delivered by TSA Consulting Ltd on behalf of the Civil Aviation Authority.

The 2020 AFDD Course provides an opportunity for DA holders to undertake an online course between 20th April and 26th June 2020.  DA Holders are advised that for 2020 an AFDD accreditation is not mandatory; however, they are encouraged to undertake the unassessed course where feedback will be provided on individual performance in preparation for the 2021 Flying Display Season, for which an AFDD accreditation be will be required.  Dates for the 2021 AFDD course will be published later this year.

Submission of the AFDD Course Application Form will enable the CAA to consider the applications in date order, before loading candidates onto the online course which will be available from 20th April to 26th June 2020.

Terms and Conditions:

  1. The AFDD Course is available to all DA Holders.  For 2020, the AFDD Course is unassessed but DA holders will be offered feedback on their performance
  2. The AFDD course will be conducted entirely online.  Candidates will be required to access course material via Staffbase, and to submit coursework online

This offence is punishable on summary conviction by a fine up, and on conviction on indictment with an unlimited fine or up to two years imprisonment or both.
